Cascade Air Rower Mag

I’ve had this machine for about a year. It’s a smooth operating, well-constructed machine. I do have some observations:
1. The monitor is not backlit, so it’s kind of hard to read in anything but bright light.
2. The monitor is about 12-16″ too far away from the rower. If you strap yourself in, it’s hard to reach over to push the buttons to start the workout..
3. If you set the thing for, say, 2000 meters, as soon as you hit that mark the monitor beeps, and then goes to a default display, wiping out the record of your workout within about 10 seconds. You don’t have time to review or record your performance.
4. There’s a resistance knob to turn at the bottom of the monitor, labeled “tension control,” but on the monitor the corresponding number that appears is “intensity.” Seems like it would make sense to have the knob and the display bear the same labeling.
That said, it’s a solid machine and comfortable to use.

This is a beautiful rower. Although it is pricey considering it does not have a touch screen/ability to follow app on large screen included. But in terms of being a solid machine, smooth, very quiet with a very comfortable seat, this is a winner! Also, I love that I can change the resistance with the turn of a knob. I love that it is not dependent on electricity or wifi and I also like that the small screen that it does have can be positioned so that it is lower than my line of sight. I have put a smart flat screen in front of it on the wall so that I can row while watching scenic rowing videos on youtube and plan to run apps on my phone which I can mirror to the tv. Again, this set up is expensive! $2500 (including tv) but this rower is a very SOLID machine. No regrets thus far. I expect it to last for many years.
