How do you design a wellness space?
Or enhance one that already exists?
And how can you bring more wellness into a space?
Today, I want to share the one thing we always start with.
We’re often asked these questions by clients, and what we’ve found is that the most impactful approach is also the simplest.
The one thing we always begin with when designing or upgrading a wellness space is…
Feeling.
Let me explain.
Think of a wellness space you’d like to create. It could be for your home or for a business.
If you already have a wellness space, even better — use that for this.
Now ask yourself:
What are two words that describe how you want to feel in this space?
Take a moment with that.
Because at the heart of every space we create… is feeling.
How we feel in a space is often the main thing we remember.
It’s not just the equipment.
It’s not just the layout.
It’s how the space makes us feel.
If I’m investing in something like Leela Quantum Technology, yes — it’s a physical product.
But the real reason I’m drawn to it is because of how I want to feel:
- Healthy
- Clear-minded
- Energized
- Aligned
And the environment I create supports that.
This is the same principle we use when designing wellness spaces.
Those two words you chose?
They become your filter.
A filter for every decision you make.
From the products you bring in…
To the lighting…
To the layout…
To the energy of the space.
Designing With Intention
Let’s bring this to life.
If your desired feeling is:
Peaceful + Grounded
You may be drawn toward:
- Infrared sauna + cold plunge setups
- PEMF mats for relaxation and nervous system support
- Soft lighting and minimal, natural design
Energized + High Performance
You may lean toward:
- Power Plate my8 Full Body Vibration Platform
- Red light therapy panels or beds
- Cryotherapy systems for rapid recovery
Detox + Rejuvenation
You might consider:
Each product becomes a tool to support a feeling, not just a feature.
Use Your Filter to Decide
Let’s say your two words are:
Peaceful and Elevated
Now you’re deciding between:
- A sauna + cold plunge combo
- A lymphatic roller
- Red light therapy
Run each option through your filter.
Which one creates peace?
Which one feels elevating?
Which one aligns most with the experience you want to create?
That clarity simplifies everything.
Designing for Clients (If You’re a Studio Owner)
If you’re building a commercial wellness space, take it one step further.
Step into your client’s shoes.
Ask yourself:
How do I want them to feel when they walk in?
During their session?
When they leave?
Because that feeling is what they’ll come back for.
Not just the service — but the experience.
Not just the equipment — but the transformation.
When you design from this place, your space becomes intentional.
And intentional spaces stand out.
Come back to your two words.
Use them as your guide.
And notice how your decisions become clearer, faster, and more aligned.
You’re not just building a space.
You’re creating an experience.
And that experience starts with how you want to feel.
With gratitude and vitality,
