Adding cryotherapy to your wellness studio can elevate your service offerings, increase revenue per client, and position your brand as a serious performance and recovery destination.
But choosing the right cryotherapy chamber isn’t just about how cold it gets.
From fully electric systems to nitrogen-based units, your decision impacts operating costs, safety, scalability, and long-term ROI.
Here’s how to make the right choice.
Why Add Cryotherapy to Your Wellness Studio?
Whole-body cryotherapy exposes the body to ultra-low temperatures for short sessions (typically 2–3 minutes). These sessions may support:
-
Reduced inflammation
-
Faster muscle recovery
-
Pain relief
-
Improved circulation
-
Increased energy and mood
For studio owners, cryotherapy offers:
-
Premium pricing potential
-
Short session times (high client turnover)
-
Strong membership upsell opportunities
-
High perceived value service
When positioned correctly, it can become one of the highest-margin services in your recovery suite.
Step 1: Understand Electric vs Nitrogen Systems
This is your first major decision.
Electric Cryotherapy Chambers
Electric chambers use advanced refrigeration systems to reach and maintain therapeutic cold temperatures — eliminating the need for liquid nitrogen.
Example: XR Cryo Kiosk
The XR Cryo Kiosk is a fully electric cryotherapy chamber designed for commercial environments.
Why studios prefer electric systems:
-
No nitrogen refills
-
Predictable operating costs
-
Simplified staff training
-
No gas handling
-
Easier regulatory compliance
-
Consistent temperature control
Electric systems are ideal for long-term scalability and lower operational complexity.
Example: CryoBuilt Electric Chambers (Including Everest Series)
CryoBuilt manufactures premium electric cryotherapy chambers engineered for durability and performance. Their systems are designed to deliver consistent therapeutic temperatures without nitrogen.
Why studios choose CryoBuilt:
-
Fully electric operation
-
Modern, sleek commercial design
-
Strong performance reputation
-
Lower ongoing operational costs compared to nitrogen
-
Customizable configurations
CryoBuilt is ideal for performance-driven studios, longevity clinics, and high-end wellness centers looking for a reliable electric solution.
Best for: Boutique wellness studios, gyms, performance centers, and investors focused on scalable operations.
Nitrogen Cryotherapy Chambers
Nitrogen systems use liquid nitrogen to cool the chamber environment. They can reach extremely low temperatures quickly and are often used in traditional cryotherapy centers.
These systems require:
-
Regular nitrogen refills
-
Proper ventilation
-
Oxygen monitoring systems
-
Staff training for safe handling
Nitrogen may appeal to studios that prioritize ultra-low temperature marketing and already have infrastructure in place.
Step 2: Consider Your Space & Infrastructure
Cryotherapy chambers vary in:
-
Footprint size
-
Ceiling height requirements
-
Electrical load
-
Ventilation needs
Ask yourself:
-
Do I have a dedicated recovery room?
-
Can my electrical system handle the load?
-
Is ventilation required for my model?
-
Am I planning to expand into multi-modality recovery?
Example: Antarctica Chamber
The Antarctica Chamber is a professional-grade cryotherapy system designed for commercial wellness environments.
Why it works well in studios:
-
Efficient footprint
-
Reliable performance
-
Built for consistent session throughput
-
Professional aesthetic that complements recovery suites
It’s a strong option for studios looking to integrate cryotherapy into an existing wellness space without overcomplicating infrastructure.
Step 3: Calculate Operating Costs & ROI
Before purchasing, evaluate:
-
Initial investment
-
Installation costs
-
Electrical requirements
-
Nitrogen refill costs (if applicable)
-
Maintenance and servicing
-
Average session pricing in your market
Cryotherapy sessions often range between $40–$80 depending on your positioning.
With strong membership integration and marketing, many studios reach ROI within 12–24 months.
Electric systems typically have:
-
Higher upfront investment
-
Lower ongoing operating expenses
Nitrogen systems may have:
-
Moderate upfront cost
-
Ongoing refill expenses
Your financial strategy should guide your decision.
Step 4: Prioritize Safety & Compliance
Safety is critical.
Look for:
-
Emergency stop features
-
Oxygen monitoring (for nitrogen systems)
-
Clear manufacturer protocols
-
Warranty coverage
-
Training support
Electric chambers simplify compliance by removing nitrogen handling risks.
Step 5: Align With Your Brand Identity
Ask yourself:
Are you positioning your studio as:
-
A tech-forward biohacking lab?
-
A luxury longevity clinic?
-
A high-performance athletic recovery center?
-
A holistic wellness sanctuary?
For example:
-
XR Cryo Kiosk fits modern, tech-driven wellness brands.
-
CryoBuilt electric chambers align with performance-focused facilities.
-
Antarctica Chamber provides professional-grade capability with balanced investment.
The right chamber should reinforce your brand story, not just your service menu.
Wrapping it up...
Choosing the right cryotherapy chamber is about more than temperature. It’s about operational efficiency, safety, scalability, and long-term profitability.
If you want lower complexity and predictable costs, consider electric systems like XR Cryo Kiosk or CryoBuilt. If you want professional-grade reliability with streamlined design, Antarctica Chamber is a strong option.
Cryotherapy can become a flagship, high-margin offering in your wellness studio — when selected strategically.
